About Team Winnie

Basecamp Fitness/Team Winnie is pleased to announce that we have partnered with a local non-profit organization called Best Christmas Ever (BCE)! BCE surprises families during the holiday season who have fallen on tough times through no fault of their own. Our team is looking forward to surprising a local family with a Best Christmas Ever this holiday season! We aim to raise at least $5,000 and collect ten donated gifts per family member! The families that receive the Best Christmas Ever are chosen from nominations submitted to BCE. Monetary donations will go towards the family's life-changing gift. This gift can help reduce the burden a family carries during difficult times. The financial gift may be used to purchase a new/used vehicle, pay medical bills, go towards their rent/mortgage, pay credit cards, pay utility bills, travel, etc. BCE does not pay phone bills, cable bills, court-related incidents, or construction projects. Additionally, BCE does not pay cash directly to families. We cannot complete this BCE without the support of our community. Thanks in advance for your help! The Family Story written from the Nominator:

My sweet niece, Arwyn (Winnie), was diagnosed with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in September of this year. This has meant a lengthy hospital stay at the time of diagnosis, endless medical procedures, and continued hospital visits several days a week as an outpatient to recieve chemotherapy and other necessary treatments. We are told by her medical team this will be their "normal" for the next 2 years. Each one of these events require a level of strength they have shown time and time again. This journey has also deeply impacted Winnie's sister Lux, who has bravely endured long stretches without both her mom and dad by her side as they had to donate much of their time away at the hospital caring for her sister. Lux has had to navigate this drastic life change with resilience, shouldering far more than any young child should. Her family has shown an unbreakable spirit, but I know a Christmas blessing would mean the world to them as they continue to fight this battle. This family truly deserves a Best Christmas Ever - a holiday full of joy, support, and relief from the heavy weight they carry every day. They have always been the most giving people I know, and I wish so badly to be a part of something like this where they can receive, and enjoy a happy surprise!
