The last three years we have been able to give three families so much joy during the holiday season and during a time when they could truly use a pick me up! We will update our information here along with events and anything else we have going on in the coming months!

This single mom and her children, Boy (10) and Girl (12) are truly deserving of the Best Christmas Ever. Mom grew up in the southern suburbs and has lived in neighborhoods across Minneapolis and St. Paul. She has not been able to work due to domestic violence she’s experienced in the past year. Her housing situation has been tenuous and she and her family recently stayed at a domestic violence women’s shelter in Hopkins. Through community support the family just moved into an apartment on the east side of St. Paul. Her children are settling into schools in the Hopkins area (Hopkins West and Meadowbrook) and they are looking forward to some stability and consistency in their lives.
Through this tumultuous time, Mom has consistently supported and advocated for her children. She has worked for GardaWorld security when she has been able, though recent events have prevented her from working consistently. As her nominee, I met her when she joined a community engagement project I lead at the Science Museum. The mom and other families from the metro area are collaborating with museum staff to co-design a new outdoor exhibit at the museum. Mom has joined our project meetings even through the challenges she’s been facing in her personal life. She and her children bring so much creativity and positivity to our work. Let’s open our hearts and give them the Best Christmas Ever this year.
